Piano Moving

“Much too often I'll receive a customer’s call to inspect and estimate their highly valued and often very expensive piano which was damaged by a moving company loading, in-transit or un-loading. If it's not totaled, the repairs are usually costly...especially if the case finish is high-polish. During that initial visit, I'm often made aware of the customer's nightmare dealing with the mover and their insurance company.” Plan your next transport with Homestead Pianos. “We’ve put together a short video that we entitled…“A Moving Experience.”

Piano Storage

Protect your investment with Homestead Pianos’ secure, climate-controlled piano storage. Whether you’re relocating, remodeling, downsizing or need temporary space, we offer short and long-term storage tailored to your piano’s needs. Our facility maintains optimal humidity and temperature conditions. With 21 years of trusted experience, your instrument is in expert hands from pickup to placement.

Piano Tuning

“Most pianos should be tuned 1 to 2 times a year. Throughout the year as heat comes on or when the A/C comes on, the swings in temperature and humidity affect the tuning. To keep the piano at concert pitch of A440, usually requires raising the pitch in the winter months. As the heater runs, it shrinks the piano soundboard and the instrument goes flat. The reverse is true when the A/C is blasting in the Texas heat. The pitch spectrum from sharp to flat usually varies from the bass to the mid-range up to treble. Depending on how diverse that spectrum is, the tuning time ranges from 1 1/2 to 2 hours. If it’s been twenty years since you had it tuned, there’s a good possibility you’ll need to have several tunings within a year to lock it in… We’ll send our reminder card that says,”Support your local piano tuner!
